On March 17th, Winter Gardens Elementary School in partnership with

Los Angeles County Supervisor Hilda L. Solis hosted a

2nd Annual Health & Wellness Fair. 


It was a successful event with the participation of the following providers:

American Red Cross, Artistry, Beverly Hospital, Bristow Park Library, Carrusel Uniforms, Department of Public Works, Department of Public Health, DPSS Mobil Unit, East Los Angeles Sheriffs & Fire Department, East Los Angeles Women's Center, Esquer Family Childcare, Family Health Care Center, Family Therapist Mojica, Health Net, Human Services Association Medical, Johnny's Animaland, Kuwaye Dental, LA County "211",  Latino Family Center, Los Angeles Fire Dept. and Yogi House, Montebello Head Start Program,  Montebello Parks & Recreation, Number One Dental, Plaza Community Services, Public Social Services, Urban Outreach Bookmobile & VIA Care !

The Seal of Biliteracy

seal of biliteracy.jpgThe Seal of Biliteracy is an award given by a school, school district, or county office of education in recognition of students who have studied and attained  proficiency in two or more languages by high school graduation.

The Seal of Biliteracy appears on the transcript or diploma of the graduating senior and is statement of accomplishment for future employers and for college admissions.

The State Seal of Biliteracy is intended to:

Recognize students who have acquired proficiency in English and additional

  • Encourage the learning of all languages
  • Emphasize the value of knowing many languages
  • Contribute to global understanding
  • Promote language learning as a lifelong endeavor
