Great turn out !
WGE had another successful Read Aloud Day Event on Friday, March 7, 2014. Many important guests came to read to our wonderful students. Our readers came from all over and included: Board Member Edgar Cisneros, Superintendent of Education Susanna Contreras-Smith, WGE retired teachers, Schurr Principal Stacey Honda, MUSD Police, Highway Patrol, Firemen and a Representative from Gloria Molina's Office, City of Commerce Library, City Councilwoman Christina Cortez, parents, our own WGE teachers, and various community members. We thank each and every one of you for taking time from your busy schedule to visit WGE students!

Congratulations PTA Recipients!
Each year our school PTA honors members of the school or the community for their hard work and commitment to our students. These individuals go far beyond the call of duty, they are devoted employees and have endless volunteer hours. This year's Honorary Service Awards was presented to Mrs. Gutierrez, 1st Grade Teacher & Mrs. Villegas, SDC Instructional Assistant. Great Job!
Attendance Award !
Winter Gardens Elementary received special recognition on February 6, 2014 from the MUSD Board of Education for outstanding student attendance for the 2012-2013 school year. WGE has received this award for three consecutive school years. This could not have been accomplished without the efforts of our teachers, parents, staff, and most of all, our students!
